How much did Vikas Khanna charge for one Instagram post?

Food has a special way to our hearts; nothing can come close to us than a full scrumptious flavorful meal of our choice. Even if not our top favorite, food is a basic necessity and a means of survival. Some take up the responsibility of serving us a yummy meal or teaching us how to prepare ourselves.

Coming from the land of spices and flavours and the land of chole bhature and paranthas, Vikas Khanna has taught us what a yummy dish tastes like, and we are eternally grateful to him for introducing us to yummy international dishes and also for carrying our local Indian dishes to bigger food platforms.

The yummy Indian chef has established a place for himself in the food industry and has strived ever since. His sense of flavors and style of cooking is appreciated on an international level. It is impossible not to return for a second bite of a dish he cooked!

Hoping on the gravy train with Vikas Khanna

A young aspiring chef from Amritsar, Punjab, made a name for himself in the international food market. He started his journey towards tasty food when he was a child. Having a condition of Club Foot, Vikas couldnā€™t walk till he was 13, thus spending his pre-teen in the kitchen with his Grandmother. It is a universally established fact that grandmothers are the best cooks. No dish, even by the most acclaimed chefs, can taste like your grandmotherā€™s.

He opened a cute and small banquet hall called the Lawrence Gardens, where he was the organizer and caterer of small-time events like kitty parties and birthdays

His elder brother inspired him to pursue engineering, but he had to leave it at a thought since he wasnā€™t strong enough at mathematics. Vikas pursued hotel management from Welcome group Graduate School Administration, Manipur, India.

After getting stepping into the professional field of making food and experiencing the joy of setting up your first plate, there was no stopping him. He then moved to the states to study the art further and work in the international market, taking the flavors of Indian cuisine with him. Vikas got his degrees from New York University and Cornell University in New York, United States.

Looking for a job as a chef, with an opportunity to learn, he was having trouble settling in on foreign land. On the verge of giving up, he was reminded of why he got into cooking in the first place, and that gave him the motivation to stay a little longer and push a little harder. Vikas then responded to an advertisement demanding 300 portions or any appetizer. He seized this opportunity and decided to make the famous Gujarati Dhoklas. Sure enough, the advertisement’s sender, who was also the restaurant owner, was extremely impressed and decided to hire Vikas as an executive chef at Salaam Bombay in New York.

In 2006, he was featured in Gordon Ramsayā€™s famous American television show- Kitchen Nightmares, and that gave him the confident push he needed to start his own restaurant. On 2nd December 2009, he opened his own restaurant, ‘ Junoonā€™ in the Flatiron district of Manhattan. Jumoon was awarded a Michelin star restaurant, one of the highest culinary recognitions by the Michelin Guide for 5 consecutive years starting in 2010. Though we may know the restaurant through the owner and the co-host of Masterchef
