In 1998, Tewari began his career as a singer-songwriter. He wrote the soundtrack for several films, including Gully Boy, Quick Gun Murugun, Chef, and David. Let’s Enjoy, which he directed in 2004, was Tewari’s first feature film. Subsequently, he penned screenplays for UTV Movies (Game On), TIPS (Charles), and Vishesh Films (Rain). He has also produced numerous music videos for well-known musicians like Kailash Kher.

He contributed to several Netflix productions, including Yeh Ballet by Sooni Taraporevala and Guilty by Ruchi Narain. He wrote the song “Dhuaan Dhuaan” for Jio Saavn, which has received over a million views on YouTube.
